Exploration of Civil Disobedience in Sophocles Antigone,...
Exploration of Civil Disobedience in Sophocles Antigone, Kings Letter from Birmingham Jail, and Platos From Crito Civil disobedience spawns a major and widely debated issue by many who established by well-known intelligent scholars and many examples of civil disobedience become displayed. The acts of civil disobedience can be noted in major works such as Sophocles?s Antigone, King?s ?Letter from Birmingham Jail?, or even from Plato?s ?from Crito?. A specific claim exemplified throughout these works make that civil disobedience races in gaining popularity and should remain allowed, and continued to be seen as a solution to reform poorly established laws. A claim represented is, civil disobedience is right. Rhetorically, appeals suchâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦The body referring to Antigone?s brother, this determination was to go against the law established by Creon. When a particular law is poorly established, someone is bound to defy it. Namely, Antigone was bound to break this law and disobey its authority. Credibility is also shown in ?from Crito?; the prisoner who taught philosophy. Plato was imprisoned because he taught philosophy to people and he is credible for not doing wrong. In King?s ?Letter from Birmingham Jail?, it is credible because it is known that Martin Luther King Jr. is a very credible person in the civil rights movement. Credibility strikes to be an important part of this claim. The logical part of the rhetorical appeals refers mainly to the specific facts as evidence. From ?Letter from Birmingham? a good logical claim, made by Martin Luther King Jr., supports and explains how his race was treated as inferior and being persecuted. He utilizes examples of how racial injustice became a huge problem. Antigone also provided facts for claims of civil disobedience and of how she was opposed to the law of leaving her brother left without a proper burial. The quotation ?After those terrible threats of yours, kings, we brushed the dust away from the body.? This quotation refers and explains how Antigone had originally buried the body and the guard had uncovered it. There isn?t much logical appeal in the work ?from Crito?.

Essay on Usage of the Outsider Theme in Claude McKays...
Usage of the Outsider Theme in Claude McKays Poetry Claude McKay was an important figure during the 1920s in the Harlem Rennaisance. Primarily a poet, McKay used the point of view of the outsider as a prevalent theme in his works. This is best observed in such poems as Outcast, America, and The White House. In these poems, McKay portrays the African-American as the outsiderof western society and its politics and laws and at times, the very land that he is native to. McKayss poem, Outcast, is the most obvious example of this outsider theme. From the title to the last line there are many references to a feeling of alienation and neglect. The voice in the poem longs for the dim regions whence my fathers came. Theâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This feeling of aliention is even further revealed in later lines where he must walk the way of life a ghost among the sons of earth, a thing apart. This line best exemplifies the plight of the African-American feeling removed from home and lost even in the western civilization he is forced to adopt. McKays Outcast is the poem which the outsider theme is most apparent. It creates a bleak yet vivid picture of the alienation to which the African-American is subjected. America is another poem written by McKay that reveals the outsider theme of the Negro in America. McKay voices his love/hate relationship with America in this poem. He states that she sinks into my throat her tigers tooth, stealing my breath of life. He does however confess I love this cultured hell that tests my youth! Her vigor flows like tides into my blood giving me strength erect against her hate. This line indicates that while he struggles as an American, it is America that keeps him going; that she gives him life even as she sucks it away. McKay is saying that he loves America not so much as an American but as an outsider that needs the test to live and become stronger. Another example of the theme of alientation is in the line Yet as a rebel fronts a king in state I stand within her walls. McKay is once again using the point of view of the outsider rather than someone that really feels American. Ksa Self Eval Free Essays
I am definitely a quick learner which is very beneficial to on the spot coverage for a co-worker, was trained for basic process to handle JABBER for only half a day since my co-worker needs to go to an emergency leave for 3 weeks, midyear n 2013 and helped my peer with relaying referrals to JABBER when she had a foot surgery which leads me to be an alternate on handling JABBER. I was managing authorizations for all local primary care that goes to a native facility, SEC Orthopedic and .NET after ELL was passed on to one of my peers. We will write a custom essay sample on Ksa Self Eval or any similar topic only for you Order Now I was assigned to be a mentor to new employee to assist with all work related issues. On late December 201 3, was asked by my Supervisor to manage JABBER in place of my peer that volunteered for another task. I was handling all officer consults, authorizations and referral management along tit SF which is also considered a big task due to a number of patients thatââ¬â¢s being sent to their facility and all other local primary care that are being sent to native facilities for almost 9 months. Created a spreadsheet via Microsoft Excel for all JABBER clinics for easy tracking. I volunteer to work TOT every Saturday to take down Mammography consults and all other categories that needs to be worked on. I have been asked questions and advice by my peers (Nurses and Maââ¬â¢s) on work related issues, especially new employees. Questions about work processes, most specially computer related, mostly bout trouble shooting and vendor information. I also helped on answering the phones (ACED Line) when needed. I was the first MASS in our department to have tried the process of the PC program. Wowed some of my peers the step by step process of submitting consult/ referrals/ authorization through scanning to the program. I practically started the process and showed/ trained some of my peers, even the leads. I created the letter for veterans (fixed it, since it was from a flyer in PDF format that needs to be converted to Microsoft Word document), I also created the main coversheet for PC we use whenever we amend, deny, re-route a secondary request/ authorization and p ut together a verbiage to be used whenever we create an authorization for Tries. Tot tied to work on JABBER, SF and other local primary (native facility) which leads me to just occasionally helping with PEG. However, the main person who has been processing PC authorizations still seek my advice most of the time, as far as trouble shooting PC processes. I also contributed a lot to our temporary MASS working with faxes even though was not assigned to be her mentor, she always seeks my advice most of the time.
